The GET (Grade 8 and Grade 9), now referred to as the Senior Phase of the General Education and Training Band, is both formative and exploratory.
The eight learning areas in the Senior Phase are:
LLC: Language, Literacy and Communication (Afrikaans & English – offered at home and first additional level)
MLMMS: Mathematical Literacy, Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences
TECH: Technology
HSS: Human/Social Sciences
DTECH: Digital Technology
NS: Natural Sciences
LO: Life Orientation
EMS: Economic and Management Sciences
In the Senior Secondary Phase (Grades 10, 11 and 12), now referred to as the Further Education and Training band, differentiation is introduced according to the interests, needs and abilities of pupils. Pupils may select different subject packages or fields of study.

- Afrikaans Home Language / Afrikaans First Additional Language
- Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy
- Life Orientation
Choice subjects
- Computer Applications Technology / Accounting / Hospitality Studies
- Life Sciences / Business Studies / History
- Physical Sciences / Geography / Computer Applications Technology
All courses offered by the School lead to Matriculation Exemption, i.e. University entrance qualification.
Extra-curricular activities / Buite-muurse aktiwiteite
Leerlinge word aangemoedig om aan buitemuurse aktiwiteite deel te neem, want dit vorm ‘n kerndeel van hul algehele opvoeding. Deelname aan buitemuurse aktiwiteite dra by tot ‘n leerling se akademiese ontwikkeling. ‘n Gesonde liggaam huisves ‘n gesonde gees! Gill-Kollege is verbind tot ‘n opvoeding wat wyer is as die grense van ‘n klaskamer.
Vrystelling van fisiese aktiwiteite word slegs toegestaan by die indiening van ‘n mediese sertifikaat. Dit is in die belang van elke leerling dat hy ten minste een buitemuurse aktiwiteit identifiseer waarmee hy gemaklik is.
Gewone spansporte word aangebied soos: Atletiek, Krieket, Tweekamp, Seuns-en Dogters Hokkie, Rugby, Netbal, Muurbal, Swem en Tennis. Verskeie verenigings en klubs is aktief:
- Skaakklub
- Debatvereniging
- Redenaars
- Imagine (nuwe VCSV)
- Landsdiens
- ATKV
Boarding / Koshuis
We are fortunate to have two seperate boarding facilities – Gill Senior Hostel for Girls (on campus) and Bellevue for Boys (Paulet Street). Our hostels are a home-away-from-home, where friends become family and memories are made for a lifetime.
